What Makes Us, Us

The Real Seal: Our Core Values
The Real Seal: Our Core Values

We have grown a lot over the years! From humble beginnings working out of my parent’s garage, to the 30-person family we area today, we have had an amazing journey. It has and continues to be a continuous experience of growth, development, and heightened understanding. We didn’t come here to make money. We didn’t come here to sell. We certainly didn’t come here to be more of the same. We came here to be the change. Ghandi preached being the change we wish to see in the world, and we live that every single day.

An Example to Live Up To

I once read about a person who lived their lives creating their own role model in their minds, and spending every day trying to live up to that role model. Many times, we choose real people for these role models as well, from living to legendary.

Here at Real Seal, we decided to create the “model company” in our minds, and to work every day to fulfill that role. If you’ve interacted with us, you may have heard a few of our company’s key tenants:

  • Happy Employees Make Happy Customers
  • We would rather lose money than have an upset customer
  • We want to be the contractors you send to your parent’s home when you are out of town

It all boils down to trust. Can you trust us to do the right thing? More importantly, can we trust ourselves to continue to do the right thing, throughout the years. Many companies start from humble beginnings, but forget them as soon as they grow larger. They lose sight of what fueled their growth and propelled them to where they are. They lose themselves.

Better Every Day

We have a core philosophy here at Real Seal. We are better every day. Each day we face new problems. Each day we have new challenges. We are a company that solves problems. Each of these problems we see as an opportunity to help and better someone’s life. Our customers come to us because they have a problem they cannot solve by themselves. We need to not only be great today, but better tomorrow so we can continue to serve our customers, and stay true to who we are, throughout our growth and development.

It all boils down to culture. We believe we have the best culture, and we believe it because we actively work on it every single day. Every day we strive to be better than we were the day before, more responsive, more empathetic, and better equipped to help more people. Internally, we empower and develop our people, encouraging them to grow within themselves as we grow as a company. Because the truth is, we NEED to grow within ourselves in order to grow as a company.

Drawing the Line

It really boils down to one thing: Doing the right thing. It isn’t that hard. There is no big secret to it. Solve the problem in the way you would want it solved if you hired a company to do it. It is easy to preach empathy and doing the right thing, but it is an altogether different aspect when put into practice. We ask ourselves a number of questions, each and every day:

  1. Would we be happy with the service we provided if we were the customer?
  2. How would we want a company to act when we have an issue with the work?
  3. What would make us feel good about the company we hired for work on our home?
  4. How would we want to be treated in the company we work in?

4 Simple questions. Every day we ask ourselves these questions, and work on how we can improve the answers. That’s the secret, we work to be better every single day. It’s a simple concept, but POWERFUL when put into practice.

Customer service is no secret, you have to care. We truly care. Period.
