There are a lot of franchises out there. Most of the big companies in your area are likely a part of a Franchise Group. Another model is a company that buys up other companies, re-brands them, and instead of Franchises, they are “branches.” Much like Corporate-owned stores of McDonald’s, these are run by the corporation themselves. You may have heard of some of these franchise before:
- Basement Systems
- Support Works
- Ground Works
While they all have differences, they act the same, funneling profits up to the prolific “man” in the corporate seat. Much of this money is not put back into the community, but instead pays for expensive vacations, yachts, 3rd homes, pools, etc., while paying their employees below-living-wages.

While we can play ball with all the franchises out there, we ourselves are NOT a franchise, branch, or any other off-shoot of a non-locally owned company. Real Seal was started in a garage in the suburbs of Chicago, grown locally and organically with people from our community. One of our many goals is to build up our community as we build our company.

We live by this statement and are sure to take care of the two most important groups of people out there; Our employees and our customers. If we do right by both our employees and customers, no amount of “Big Corporate Money” can make a difference. We believe in a more local-model that focuses on the community and those within the company.

If you have ever been around our company, you will notice the difference. It starts with how you treat each other, and ends with how we reward:
- Respect. Everything hinges on respect. Without our employees, we have NOTHING. They are the brick and mortar of the company. They are the meat and potatoes. They ARE the company itself. Without them, we are nothing. With them, we can accomplish ANYTHING.
- Relationships. People define companies, not products. The relationships we build within this company help us to achieve more together. Furthermore, these relationships help us to ENJOY what we are doing, and to get better at it every day with enthusiasm. After-hour get togethers help us to build bonds and grow together.
- Recognition. Much deeper than compensation, recognition shows appreciation beyond the paycheck. Little things, as we like to call them. Little things show you care. Remembering someone’s favorite album and getting them a copy as a surprise. Remembering their child’s birthday and giving them the day off to spend with their family. Company dinners to celebrate growth. We actually care about everyone here, and we are the closest thing to a family without getting all “Game of Thrones.”
- Rewarding. The work we perform is rewarding. We feel accomplished when we solve a customer’s issue. We will go above and beyond, each and every one of us, to make sure your needs are met. And we do this because it is rewarding in and of itself. It feels good to help people with honesty and sincerity. It feels good to know you are a part of an honest company doing the right thing.
